Between work, home, and everything in between, many of us live fast-paced lifestyles. With a busy schedule, you may often feel rushed to fit everything in and make the most out of every moment. Many people follow an athletic lifestyle, working hard during the week and then packing as much activity into the weekends as possible.

Keeping up with your busy, active lifestyle can be entertaining, but all of that adventure can result in overused muscles or even an injury. Rather than let a simple injury slow you down, let us help you get back to your usual routine with our specialized chiropractic services.

At Bomberg Chiropractic, we provide gentle but effective treatment for some of the most common issues that result from the weekend warrior lifestyle, including:

  • Shoulder pain
  • Knee pain
  • Pinched nerves
  • Leg or arm pain
  • Tennis elbow
  • Plantar fasciitis
  • Sprains

Our chiropractic services can keep your body in proper alignment, help reduce pain, and even prevent pain from resurfacing following your treatment. We offer a variety of services that are suited to people with active lifestyles, including Kinesio taping, movement based massage (ART therapy), and TENS therapy.

Kinesio Taping

Popular with athletes, Kinesio taping is a therapeutic technique that involves applying a specialized tape to help treat injury, promote recovery, and manage pain. Kinesiology tape is a thin, elastic material with an acrylic adhesive backing that can be strategically applied to relieve an assortment of physical concerns.

Kinesio taping has become increasingly widespread among athletes as a way to recover from injury, improve their performance, and even prevent new injuries from occurring. The benefits offered by Kinesio taping make it a great option for our athletic patients.

Active Release Technique

The athlete lifestyle involves constant activity, and that activity can lead to wear and tear on your muscles and joints. Over time, scar tissue can develop in areas of overuse. Though difficult to detect, this hidden issue can surface as symptoms including reduced mobility, pain, loss of muscle strength, and even tingling or numbness. Fortunately, movement based massage using the Active Release Technique (ART) can relieve these symptoms.

During an ART therapy session, Dr. Bomberg will both examine and treat the soft tissue in order to gently correct problems using precise movements. Tissues, including muscles, ligaments, nerves, and tendons, are evaluated based on their texture, mobility, and tightness. If an abnormality is detected in a specific area, it is treated with carefully applied tension and movements.

Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation (TENS)

If you’re recovering from an injury, transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation can help reduce the pain you may be experiencing. Transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation, or TENS , is a type of therapy that uses a low-voltage electrical current to provide pain relief. Electrodes are typically applied to the affected area or to specific pressure points. Once the electrodes have been attached, a gentle electrical current is delivered. This current passes through the skin and travels along your nerve fibers, and is able to override or even block the pain signals your nerves are sending to your brain.

Let us help put a stop to your pain and discomfort, so you can go back to feeling unstoppable. Through careful adjustments and state-of-the-art techniques, Dr. Bomberg can treat many of the common issues that result from an athletic lifestyle.

If you’re looking for non-invasive treatment options, contact us today to arrange a consultation. During your consultation, Dr. Bomberg will learn more about your lifestyle and any specific concerns you have. Through the consultation process, he will develop a treatment plan that will address your concerns and provide you with lasting results.
